Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare parchment lined baking sheet.
Combine the ground flax and hot water in a small bowl and stir until mixed. Let sit for 3-5 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
In a large bowl, combine the almond butter, oats, maple syrup, cinnamon, and flax mixture. Add the chocolate chips to the mixture and stir until combined.
In tablespoon sized portions (or using a mini ice cream scoop), drop cookies onto the parchment lined baking sheet. You may need to press slightly with the back of a spoon. Bake for 10 minutes and allow to cool completely before eating or storing.
